Hathway is looking for a highly capable and experienced DevOps Principal Architect to join our growing DevOps team, reporting directly to the Head of DevOps.
As a DevOps Principal Architect, you will work closely with the DevOps team and Principal Architects in other disciplines to support key DevOps initiatives and respond to requests. You will work closely with the Head of DevOps to support the continued development of both internal and external solutions for improving DevOps standards and processes across the organization.


  • At the direction of the Head of DevOps, partner with technical leads and architects to create DevOps solutions for proof of concepts, new integrations, and other technical service offerings
  • Provide thought leadership towards a foundational strategic vision for Hathway software and IaaS products and offerings across all clients; to align on direction with internal teams and executive leadership
  • Represent DevOps during client engagements and lead technical discussions with client stakeholders
  • Participate in infrastructure strategy and design discussions with internal teams to determine how to deliver the best experience for internal and external users
  • Connect with the DevOps community and track latest trends and emerging technologies
  • Evaluate and recommend tools, technologies, and processes to help ensure high-quality, maintainable infrastructure & processes
  • Cultivate innovation by driving collaborative development of DevOps solutions across Hathway projectsGenerate & lead knowledge sharing opportunities for DevOps


  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering or related field.
  • 6+ years of programming and/or DevOps experience
  • Extensive experience designing & managing a complex infrastructure implemented in Amazon Web Services (AWS), including IAM, Lambda, Codesuite, and CloudFormation
  • Experience with the following systems & platforms is desired, but not required:
  • Git/GitHub, as well as following git flow best practices with a large team of developers
  • Fastlane
  • CI/CD solutions (Jenkins, CircleCI, etc.)
  • Apple App Store Connect & Google Play Developer Console
  • Experience with scripting/programming languages such as Ruby, Python, Shell/Bash, Node.js
  • Experience with containerization and virtualization concepts & technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes, as well as experience deploying a containerized architecture within AWS using ECS or some other equivalent
  • Experience with cybersecurity and implementing data and cloud security policies & procedures
  • Experience designing and implementing automated alerting. Knowledge of creating self-healing systems is a plus
  • Some experience in hybrid application development and frameworks, e.g. Ionic, is a plus
