Job Overview

The Senior Project Manager at Hathway is a crucial part of the team responsible for leading teams to deliver project(s) that span across many product types. The Senior PM may manage a portfolio of complex projects, as a full program for an account. The project manager serves as the owner and leader of the project: successful project delivery, full implementation from initiation to deployment for one major or several minor initiatives simultaneously.


  • High level project expectations:
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously with strategic and long term vision and focus of your projects
  • Structure and lead complex projects across all engagement types that Hathway brings to market including Strategic, Creative, Web and Mobile projects.
  • Working directly with client stakeholders to maintain consensus on timeline, deliverables, milestones and assumptions and escalating to account manager and/or supervisor if it is going to impact timeline, cost or quality.
  • Expected to work independently to manage project tasks, stakeholders, team, timeline, deliverables, quality and budget.
  • Responsible for coordinating with other departments like Creative, Innovation, Sales & client services to achieve Client / Project strategic goals
  • Responsible for development and upkeep of project plan, work breakdown structure, risk & mitigation plan and assumptions list
  • Responsible for getting buy-in from stakeholders on timeline, deliverables and assumptions
  • Responsible for keeping the team accountable on timeline, deliverables and assumptions
  • Responsible for facilitating meetings and taking notes to list action items, meetings include but are not limited to Clients, internal project team and/or vendor meetings.
  • Keep the management team appraised with the status of the project
  • Responsible for documenting project closures, lesson learned.
  • Delegate remedial activities to other team members including Project Managers, Project Coordinators and Operations Staff
  • Manage budget, and scope, discussions when the Account Manager is unavailable or has agreed to the Senior Project Manager leading the discussions
  • Project metric expectations:
  • Track and manage budget utilization by department and major deliverable as defined in the Statement of Work and associated Estimate Sheet.
  • Responsible for keeping track of team utilization, process adherence.
  • Responsible for keeping track of Schedule and cost variances
  • Responsible for escalating if the actual timeline or cost deviates over 10%
  • Responsible for keeping track of revenue commitment in the project and manage client's budget
  • Time for the projects and keep track of revenue incurred in the project
  • General:
  • Lead the project delivery to the level of quality expected by department leads
  • Participate in organizational initiatives and contribute to continuous improvements.
  • Direct client management (including conflict resolution, budget discussions and change management) independent of account management.
  • Willingness to learn new methods that will make the team perform efficiently
  • Support the Project Management Leadership team and assist one or more Associate project manager(s)
  • Responsible for participating and facilitate in Sales initiatives and estimations
  • Participate in performance & appraisal review of the team and provide feedback
  • Must be flexible to support client and team schedules and time zones with a hands on, get it done, attitude.
  • Willingness to learn new methods that will make the team perform efficiently
  • Strong Agile practitioner 
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Strong knowledge of Internet technologies and solutions
  • Experience utilizing various project management methodologies, tools and techniques including agile methodologies
  • Fluency with project management tools like MSProjects, Smartsheet and productivity software like Google doc, Microsoft Office
  • Detail-oriented with an orientation to copyediting and/or quality assurance
  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science or Engineering or Business Administration
  • 10+ years of experience in the industry
  • 5+ years in Managing client facing projects
  • Expertise at driving digital media projects from pre-production to launch and managing risks
  • Experience gathering estimates, and creating and tracking budgets
  • Experience managing resources working on multiple projects and setting priorities
  • Previous experience working with remote team members
  • Preference for deadline-driven work that requires multi-tasking
  • Background in web design and interactive technology preferred
  • Excellent communication, organizational, interpersonal and writing skills
  • A true interest and passion for people, their projects and life
  • Respectful, positive, approachable attitude
  • Digital Agency experience is a big plus

  • Conditions may include working inside and/or outside.  May work around machines with moving parts and moving objects.  Working near radiant and electrical energy.  Working closely with others or working alone.  Working extended or irregular hours and traveling by all possible modes of transportation.
  • Equipment (machines, tools, devices) used in performing the essential job functions include but are not limited to computers and related equipment, calculators, copiers, fax machines, telephones, and vehicles.
